Sisterhood
'Sisterhood' is commonly defined as 'an association, society, or community of women linked by a common interest, religion, or trade,' but to us, it means much more than that. The meaning of sisterhood as it exists in Alpha Xi Delta is all about the little things. It's about the entire chapter gathering in our apartment to watch one of your favorite shows every Wednesday at 9. It's about working hard to put on an event and then laughing as you eat all of the leftover snacks you made together. It's about the sister who drives to get ice cream with you at 1 o'clock in the morning and the sister who explains why using an overflow of adverbs doesn't make your essays better; there's that sister who drove 2 hours to bring you flowers that one time you got in a car accident and your other sister who always sings with you when your favorite song comes on. You have a sister who went to Peru and came back to the chapter excited to share her experience with everyone and a sister who realized her potential by being accepted to medical school, just like she always dreamed she would.
Sisterhood is about the little things, but big things happen once you become a sister.
